Medical Industry Applications

Tynic provides a comprehensive selection of plastics that are both FDA and USP compliant. These materials are capable of reducing weight, cost reduction, increase production speed and resistance to sterilisation corroding.

The typical application of engineering plastic within the medical industries include; Dental equipment, surgical instruments, packaging, diagnostic equipment, radiation/ultrasound equipment, lab instruments and lenses.

Additionally, engineering plastic material is also used within implants, particularly within cranial applications.

Polycarbonate Protective Materials

Polycarbonate (PC) is one of the engineering thermoplastic materials most commonly used and most widely tested in the medical device industry today. Its inherent strength, excellent optical clarity, high heat distortion temperature, and dimensional stability make it an ideal material choice for demanding, critical healthcare applications.

Implant Material

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a semi-crystalline linear polycyclic thermoplastic that has been proposed as a substitute for metals in biomaterials. PEEK can also be applied to dental implant materials as a superstructure, implant abutment, or implant body. As opposed to metal and other implant materials, PEEK implant can potentially be a much more appropriate choice in a demanding mechanical life style.
